This year Fakenham academy key stage 3 took up the challenge to participate in Red January. This was a brilliant way to kick start the year by promoting the positive impact exercise can have on pupils wellbeing, improved mental health and alertness in class. Our dedicated PE staff put together a fun programme of activities for the pupils to take part in each morning, from dance routines, physical games and exercises. Several pupils that were reluctant to participate in week one, were too self conscious or decided it was not for them were fully involved and enjoying the activities by week 4. Other pupils showed progress as the weeks went by. The 4 weeks culminated in a school run on the 31st January, which all 380 pupils in years 7,8,and 9 took part in. Comments came back about what a great atmosphere it was and all pupils completed at a level they were able to reach. This was a really successful activity for our school. Joy Holland
