Y8 Girls Handball vs Stalham

The Y8 Girls Handball team travelled to Stalham for their first fixture, a tournament with the hosts, ourselves, and Aylsham, and with little experience the girls were unsure of what to expect. However, once the games kicked off the girls put and doubts to ease rushing into the lead early on. Some swift passing from the defenders and some powerful shots from Sydney, Katelynn, Ellen and Olivia gave the Stalham goalkeeper no chance of stopping them. Lacey made sure any Stalham shots were kept out with some good stops. We got to half time with a significant lead. In the second half, it was more of the same, with Tilly, Elsi, Tayla, and Paige all working well together to create chances. Our first game finished 17-0!

The second game vs Aylsham provided more of a challenge, but one the girls stood up to and overcome with ease in the end. Chloe made some excellent saves in goal, and once again the shots of our attackers were too powerful and accurate for the goalkeeper to keep out. We ended up winning 10-5. This means the girls won the tournament and are now through to the county finals which take place on Friday 7th February at the UEA. Well done to all the girls – a fantastic effort!
